We’re a growing charity with more than 1,100 staff based in England and Wales. Established more than 50 years ago, we’ve supported hundreds of young people with disabilities to achieve their potential.
Our charity runs a specialist independent college for residential and day learners with complex disabilities in Gloucestershire (near Cheltenham) and two further day colleges in Hereford and Wales. We also run supported internships and traineeships, travel training and work in partnership with charities and other organisations across the UK.
We provide high quality residential long-term living accommodation for young people with disabilities in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford and Malvern.
Our mission is clear and shared by those who work as part of our team. We are committed to playing our part in ensuring that people with disabilities can achieve their potential as equal and active citizens in control of their own lives.

Multi-disciplinary working comes as standard at National Star and our supportive and inclusive culture means that people are encouraged to grow and develop in their roles.
Training and development is something that is done well at National Star. Many people join our care teams without a background in support work so the induction training is designed to equip you with the skills you need to feel confident in your role.
Learning opportunities are not just limited to those undertaking care roles. Whether you want to be as good as possible in your current role or wish to keep up-to-date with new ways of working, we will offer training opportunities to help you excel at work. If you have ambitions to develop your career, to move to the next level, we’ll support you to do so.
We like to grow our own talent through our in-house leadership and management programme. We also offer adult apprenticeship opportunities in health and social care, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy for staff wishing to develop allied healthcare careers with us.
