The care sector offers a variety of roles across a range of different types of care. A career in care also presents many opportunities to learn new, and develop existing transferable skills. Take this latest job posting by the National Care Forum (NCF) – the membership organisation for not-for-profit organisations in the care and support sector. The NCF are looking for two Policy, Research and Project officers; a varied role requiring excellent project management skills, policy and research skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills. This could be an exciting secondment opportunity for somebody already working in care, or might give someone with transferable skills the opportunity to thrive in a new sector.
The roles offer an exciting opportunity to work within the not for profit care sector. The roles are varied and include supporting members, contributing to influencing/thought leadership work, project management and support across a range of innovative projects.
Required skills:
Excellent project management skills
Strong policy, research and analysis skills
Excellent literacy, digital literacy and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in partnership
Ability to work as a member of a team in a rapidly changing policy environment
And an understanding of the care sector Areas of specialist knowledge
The NCF membership provides a diverse range of services meeting a wide range of needs. These roles will bring additional specialist knowledge and capacity to their work across the following areas:
Digital technology and innovation relevant for the care sector
Learning disability and autism
Mental health
Housing with care
Primary and secondary research
They are seeking candidates who are able to bring knowledge and experience in two of the above areas or are willing to rapidly develop this knowledge and expertise.
Location: An office base is available in Coventry, however, candidates from across the country who are prepared to be home based also welcome. Regular travel and overnight stays are likely to be part of both roles in future.
The posts are full time, and salary is £32,000.
