Finding the role in Care that’s perfect for you can seem daunting. There are so many different things to choose from. Types of Care. Shift patterns. Responsibilities. How do you know which role is best for you?
So, we’ve put together a list of thoughtful hints and tips to help you find your perfect role in Care.
Tip 1 – Keep it Simple
The worst thing you can do is try and over-complicate finding your perfect role. What do you find interesting? Is there anything particular that you enjoy? As with anything – you should be doing what you enjoy. Asking yourself these questions will help you figure out which role is best for you.
Tip 2 – Be Practical
It’s very important to think about your role realistically. However, when considering your perfect role, think about:
Location: How far are you willing to travel to get to work? How much will it cost you to get there? Do you have a driving licence?
The Role itself: In Care, there are either very broad roles, in which you perform a variety of Care for a number of people, or there are very niche types of Care. Making the decision of what you’d like to do will help you narrow down the list.
It’s important to remember – just because you’re working in a Care environment, doesn’t mean you’ll be providing Care. You can work as a Cook; a Kitchen Assistant; a Housing Assistant, or many others.
Tip 3 – Be Prepared
Being prepared when making your decision is very important for finding your perfect role. You’ll not only get the most out of your job, but you’ll give yourself a fantastic start to a fantastic career.
