A Role That Fits Around Your Life
If you’re someone who values your weekends, whether it’s for family time, studies, hobbies, or simply rest, this role is designed with you in mind. We’re offering a rare opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life, without giving up your Saturdays and Sundays.
This part-time support worker role is ideal for parents, students, or anyone with weekend commitments who still wants to do rewarding work during the week. With just two shifts, Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons, you’ll be part of something special, while keeping your schedule flexible and your weekends free.
Meet Jordan
Jordan is a young man living in Colchester. He has cerebral palsy and mild learning disabilities, but what really defines him is his love for life, his sense of humour, and his passion for football. He’s a huge Colchester United fan, regularly attends matches, and even coaches a local team in Maldon.
He’s also keen to stay active, he goes to the gym, enjoys swimming, and loves being out in the community. Jordan is independent in many ways, but he thrives with the right support: someone who can help him stay organised, build confidence, and enjoy the things he loves.
What Your Support Will Look Like
On Tuesday evenings, you’ll be supporting him to attend Colchester United home games. These nights are a highlight of his week, and your role will be to help him get there, enjoy the experience, and return home safely. It’s not just about transport; it’s about being part of the excitement and sharing the moment.
On Fridays, your support will be more varied. You might accompany him to the gym or swimming, help him plan meals and shop for groceries, or support him with tasks like budgeting, organising his room, or preparing for the week ahead. You’ll also help him manage appointments, make phone calls, and stay on top of correspondence.
