Richmond Village Witney is looking to appoint a Commis Chef to join their team. The role of Commis Chef in this luxury retirement village is a unique blend of culinary skill and lifestyle balance. Passionate about food, you bring experience working in a variety of high-volume, multi-service, and quality kitchens. With expertise in diverse cuisines and cooking techniques, you possess a comprehensive understanding of the catering and hospitality industry, including Care Homes, hotels, conference centres high-quality pubs, and restaurants, as well as outside catering.
Working in such a refined and serene environment, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your talents across various dining settings, from intimate care home meals to bustling restaurant and clubhouse events.

You'll help us make health happen by:
Catering to residents, visitors and the public across the village
Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations against a set menu to a consistent and high quality standard.
Deliver front of house services to customers ensuring consistent standards.
Work within the extensive HACCP framework tailored to a Health Care Environment.
Maintain a clean and hygienic working area.
Respond to residents and customers dietary needs and personal preferences.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
You are adept at catering for customers with special dietary requirements and have a solid understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally supported by an NVQ level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH certification and demonstrable cooking skills.
Open to new ideas, you'll have an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, always adhering to high standards and remaining calm during a busy service. You'll enjoy working with others, working together to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal.
Because we care for vulnerable people, we'll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).
