Role: Chef / Cook

Where: Clarence Park, Weston-Super-Mare

Hours: Week 1 - Friday 

Week 2 - Thursday, Saturday, Sunday 

7:30 - 16:30 

Including alternate weekends.

Salary: £9.69

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and committed 2nd Chef at our Clarence Park Nursing Home. You will be preparing and serving light nutritious meals to people who live at the home. 

Duties and responsibilities:

To undertake general kitchen duties including washing up and the simple preparation of food and cooking where needed.

  • To practise acceptable economies. Check all deliveries for errors.
  • To be aware of the health and safety regulations and to report any situation that could be considered hazardous.
  • To carry out the correct use of equipment.
  • To report all accidents and incidents to chef and/or senior staff in charge.
  • To undertake training identified as appropriate by your line manager and to have an up to date and current Food and Hygiene certificate
  • To attend 1:1 supervision meetings with your line manager at least 5 times a year
  • To be aware and abide by all Company policies and procedures and keep up to date
  • To maintain anti-discriminatory practice and to promote equality and diversity throughout your work
  • To report any incidents or allegations of abuse following the correct steps in line with local and company Safeguarding Adult Policies
  • To have an understanding of and follow the Whistleblowing Policy where necessary
  • To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and to wear correct uniform in line with company policies and procedures (no hand jewellery to be worn and finger nails to be short and clean with no nail varnish)
  • To be aware of own personal conduct on and off duty, thus reflecting on the high standards of the home and company
  • To complete any other duties as directed by your line manager.
