Job Description

Cherrytrees is in the heart of Salford and offers residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 32 residents in comfortable single bedrooms, or double rooms for couples. Care is personalised according to each individual’s needs and preferences. Trained and skilled staff provide support, tailored for each resident’s physical and emotional needs, whilst helping them to maintain as much independence as possible.

To keep our friendly home a happy and bright place to be, we are seeking an activities coordinator with experience of working in a care home to join our team for 25 hours per week. We need a warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individual to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.

Your role will include devising and implementing meaningful occupational therapies, organising outings when appropriate, as well as events in the home. We need a programme of activities and events aimed at promoting independence and social engagement, and making certain all our residents have tailored involvement to suit their needs, and keeping their faith in mind. Activities may include reminiscence therapy, regular liaison with residents to take account of their ideas and requests, and contacting providers for music sessions, pet therapy, crafts, puzzles and lots more.

Excellent communication skills are required and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. Always giving support to our residents and maintaining their dignity and privacy, the whole team strive to provide a happy, stimulating and stable environment.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults and will involve appropriate checks and clearances. Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure at their own cost.

Covid vaccinations:  If offered employment, you must produce evidence that you have either commenced or completed the vaccination programme. If not, you must agree to have both vaccinations, commencing the programme at the first available opportunity. All care home staff need to be fully vaccinated by 11th November 2021, or prove medical exemption. This is a legal requirement and applies to everyone working in a care home.

We invest in our staff in training and development above the national guidelines as we recognise our staff are the key to our success. Recruiting and retaining the right staff is paramount. We do this by valuing their input and empowering them throughout their roles.
