To keep our lovely, friendly 65 bed care home running smoothly, we are looking for an experienced cook to join us for 30 hours per week. We need caring, compassionate, hardworking team players to help us provide the type of home environment you’d want your own relatives to have.
Ideally with an interest in working in a care home setting where residents are living with dementia, you will already hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
You need to be reliable with good time management skills and be flexible to help our home run smoothly, including covering for colleagues’ holidays from time to time. You will also be required to lead the kitchen when head chef is absent. You will help to ensure a quality food service is provided, maintaining a clean and safe work environment to comply with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations, manage kitchen stock control, be able to follow menus and recipes as set out by the home.
You will understand the importance of nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals, for our residents’ physical and mental well-being. Along with input from other members of staff and the residents’ own preferences, you will help to promote choice, dignity and respect.
All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults and successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure at their own cost.
Covid vaccinations: If offered employment, you must produce evidence that you have either commenced or completed the vaccination programme. If not, you must agree to have both vaccinations, commencing the programme at the first available opportunity. All care home staff need to be fully vaccinated by 11th November 2021, or prove medical exemption.
