Hours of work: 37.5 per week - 07:45-20:15 or 07:45-14:15/ 13:45-20:15
Chestnut Court is an 80 bed Care Home situated in the small town of Quedgeley in Gloucester. The home offers high-quality compassionate and personalised nursing, dementia and respite care in a comfortable, homely setting. We are rated 9.6 by Carehome.co.uk and Good by the Care Quality Commission Our care teams make a real difference every day and your professionalism, kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. At times, you may be the only nurse on the shift and will be responsible for leading and managing the care team to ensure that high standards of nursing and personal care are met, providing clinical leadership and guidance where necessary. You will deliver, monitor, and re-evaluate care needs in partnership with each resident, their key carers, family members and the wider team at the home, as well as liaising effectively with GPs, hospitals and external agencies.

You will be responsible for : * Delivering and supervising the care team to ensure effective delivery of personal care and well-being of the residents. * Undertake all aspects of nursing care, including advanced clinical skills where the appropriate training and supervision have been obtained. * The day to day management of the care and support team on the nursing ward during the course of a shift. * Ensure that all medications, including controlled drugs, are ordered, stored, administered and disposed of in accordance with the Trust’s Medicines Policy, NMC and CQC guidance on drug administration * Ensure that all care and nursing employees maintain written and electronic care records and Trust records in accordance with record keeping standards * Ensuring effective collaboration with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team, including hospitals and outside agencies. About you: You will be a qualified Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse and currently registered with NMC. You will have post-registration experience, able to evidence continuing professional development activities and comfortable working autonomously. You will have a clear understanding of regulatory frameworks and also have experience of or be willing to train in: * Medication administration * Catheterisation * End of life care * Verification of death * Syringe drivers * Gastrostomy care * Venepuncture * Diabetic awareness * Tissue viability * Epilepsy awareness * Management of deterioration – sepsis awareness You will be a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build positive working relationships. Your place of work is Chestnut Court, Saint James', Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4WD whilst our Covid Assessment Unit is open. Once this unit closes you will berequired to work at and travel to another Care Home as required by the Trust on a permanent basis. This will be based within 15 miles of your address, unless you wish to travel further. You agree to travel on the Trust’s business when required for the proper performance of your role under this contract. OSJCT provide full PPE for all our services, along with clear protocols for its use, alongside weekly PCR tests and daily Lateral Flow tests.
