Job Description

Job Title: Bedside Buddy

Location: Cherry Garth, Holmer Green

Hours: 20 hours per week

Shift pattern: 10:30am–14:30pm (5 x per week). Please note – this role is predominantly weekday work only, however, there may be a requirement to work outside of these hours for special occasions.

About the Role

The purpose of your new job is to give the highest quality one to one support to residents within our homes. This will include: 

  • Enabling residents to feel less isolated and encourage them to be more engaged in meaningful, person centred activity 
  • Producing Personal Profiles and life histories for each resident.
  • Supporting older people of all abilities, including those living with dementia
  • Building relationships with residents, their family and friends, colleagues and community.
  • Optimising independence and enhance wellbeing.


About you!

Professional or personal knowledge of dementia and the client group would be advantageous.  You must be confident, creative thinking with the ability to motivate others.

You will always be learning through our innovative training and support programme, giving you the best skills possible to ensure you reach your full potential. 

You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to show compassion, respect, and patience to the people we support and to live our values. 

You will need strong IT skills as you will be creating posters for the service and also community with colleagues internally and externally via email.
