The Fremantle Trust is undergoing an exciting transformation. We are in the process of improving care quality, particularly in our older people’s services, modernising our systems, redefining roles and staffing structures and upskilling our workforce. Outwardly, we want to work in partnership with local authorities, the NHS and private payers, to improve our offer to people living with dementia and their families and develop new services such as intermediate care, community based reablement and extra care housing. At the beginning of 2019 we appointed a new Chief Executive and there have been many changes across the organisation including a new corporate strategy. To achieve our aims and mission, we are now seeking to recruit a highly skilled, passionate and proactive Director of Operations to take strategic and operational leadership for our customer–facing services. This is a critical and exciting role for the right person, with lots of scope to play a key role in supporting the Chief Executive, the wider Executive Team and our Board of Trustees. You will have the unique opportunity to understand, and shape operations and to make a real difference to the organisation and the people that we support.


We are seeking someone with strong strategic knowledge and operational delivery of the provision of dementia, residential and nursing care for older people and an understanding of learning disability services. Used to achieving excellent outcomes in regulatory inspections, you will have a positive approach and strong strategic leadership skills. Experience of change management programmes and a record of delivery of change, both in processes and in technology is essential – together with commercial awareness and accountability for cost control. You will need to be a great communicator who is adept at using social media and forging strong relationships with operational management, regulators and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will be someone who is excited to deliver impactful and meaningful change, building relationships across the organisation and the sector more broadly to identify and implement innovative practices which will ensure the quality of life for those in our care will be at the highest possible standards, both now and in the future.
