What will I need to be a Community Care Assistant?
The position of a Community Care Assistant is varied, you will assist customers with practical living tasks such as house chores & assistance with washing, but you will also be there to provide companionship, and so you must be kind & patient. The role may be a match for those keen to pursue a career within the health & social care sector. However, if you have no experience, please do not hesitate to apply, as full training is provided. Providing that you are keen to learn & passionate about providing high-quality care, we are more than happy to support your ongoing training needs & provide 24/7 on-call support!
Flexibility is vital as our customer’s will need care 365 days a year. Therefore, you will need to be able to commit to both evening & alternate weekend work. Our shift patterns are 7 am-2 pm & 4 pm-10 pm and you will be expected to do a mixture of these.
Requirements - Community Care Assistant’s will need a driving licence & access to a car. You should also be a confident driver, as travelling around different area’s is a large part of the role. Please also note you will need to be confident driving in the evenings.
What will a Community Care Assistant do?
The daily duties of a Community Care Assistant can vary, as you will be driving around the local area’s visiting customers in their homes. You may assist them with duties such as -
Housework duties
Personal care e.g., washing & dressing
Food preparation
Companionship – you will be visiting customers daily & building relationships with them to ensure their emotional needs are supported.
