Administrator

Service Name:  The Chestnuts Care Home
Location:  Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP21
Salary:  £9.74 per hour

Hours: 35hrs per week

Ambient Support is a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health need and people with a learning disability.

Our Administrator needs:

  • To maintain appropriate and accurate petty cash and amenities records, and service users’ personal money records. This will include visiting the bank to deposit or withdraw cash.
  • To deliver and distribute all mail to staff and Service Users.
  • Provide an efficient telephone service to the general public and relatives/visitors to the home and pass on care issues to DRP or Manager.
  • To collate information and ensure that timesheets and other documents relating to the payroll are processed and delivered within given deadlines.
  • To maintain all leave, sickness and flexi time records.
  • To complete weekly service user returns, new service user forms or deceased/left forms and send to Head Office
  • To undertake a range of admin duties including the typing of correspondence for the Manager.
  • To provide appropriate admin systems as required for the accurate processing of invoices.
  • To support the Manager as required in all recruitment, reference letters etc.
  • To prepare and maintain stationery orders, stock and records
  • To be familiar with and to act at all times in accordance with Ambient’s policies and procedures
  • To participate in training programmes including mandatory training as required to maintain the skills and knowledge required to deliver the duties of the position
  • To act in a professional manner at all times ensuring a positive portrayal of the postholder and Ambient’s to residents and other individuals both within and outside of Ambient.
  • To use computers on a regular basis
  • Use care management systems to access and update residents’ information, including care plans, and to access and update other home data
  • Access Ambient resources, for example, staff website, online payslips and undergo e-learning
  • Use basic software packages to record and access information
  • Use computers to support individuals in their daily lives. The postholder may be directed from time to time by the appropriate Line Manager to carry out other duties and responsibilities commensurate with his/her post, grade, knowledge and experience.

The Chestnuts is a community based care home in Aylesbury. It is a Residential Home that is able to provide a home to 64 people.

In order to protect both our staff and the people we support, unless there are wholly exceptional reasons (which we will consider on an individual basis), it is a requirement that all new employees have a Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencing with Ambient Support, and that they continue to receive Covid-19 vaccinations as required and in accordance with public health guidance throughout their employment with us.
