Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional leader for our flagship Nursing Home at our prestigious Stanmore campus. As General Manager of Anita Dorfman House, you will oversee the operational management of our 80-bed Nursing and Assisted Living services, catering to self-funding residents.

Your role involves ensuring high-quality care and financial sustainability, excelling in staff leadership, operational oversight, and resident and relative engagement  

As a visionary leader, you will align with our strategy, implement it locally, and foster team development and growth, ensuring the overall success of the home.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring our residents and their family’s needs are met, and their quality of life is enhanced. Acting as a main point of contact for residents and relatives, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Overseeing daily operations, managing senior management and clinical staff whilst maintaining the highest standards of care, ensuring compliance with CQC and statutory bodies.
  • Implementing efficient management policies and procedures.
  • Managing, monitoring and developing financial performance, including income, expenses, and profitability.
  • Managing a large multidisciplinary team to ensure cross-organisational working, whilst collaborating with HR colleagues to recruit, retain and manage staff efficiently.
  • Ensuring staff are well-trained and competent. Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Maintaining adequate staffing levels and managing rota’s inline with occupancy and budgetary requirements

What you will need

  • Recognised Leadership or management qualification
  • Strong visionary leadership skills with demonstrable experience of working at a senior management level, with a minimum of at least five years.
  • Proven record of achieving high standards in (preferably via CQC inspection reports).
  • Experience of leading a large care/ nursing home team and being a manager of managers.
  • Excellent understanding and up to date knowledge of social care and its regulatory system, including the delivery of all aspects of care for older people including dementia and end of life care and issues of capacity.
