About Our Service

Our 5-bed residential service is designed to support adults with intellectual disabilities and additional complex needs such as Autism and Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). We specialise in working with individuals profoundly impacted by autism, focusing on providing personalised care to help them plan and execute their daily activities. Guided by the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, we strive to deliver meaningful outcomes that enhance the quality of life for those in our care.

Team Leader Role Overview

As a Team Leader, you will assist the Registered Manager in leading a team of dedicated staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will:

• Lead by example, working a mix of office-based and direct support shifts.
• Support the team to meet regulatory obligations with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
• Undertake administrative duties and assist with general service operational issues.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Ensure that care plans and risk assessments are comprehensive, up-to-date, and reflective of individuals needs.
• Participate in the on-call system to provide out-of-hours support when required.

What We Are Looking For in a Team Leader

Qualifications:

• Health and Social Care qualification (minimum level 2) and a willingness to study for level 3

Experience:

• 3 years professional experience working with people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health difficulties.
• 2 years managerial experience (preferred) or 2 years in a senior position
• Knowledge and practical application of the PBS framework to understand and support behavioural needs.
• Experience working within legal frameworks, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
• Familiarity with CQC regulations and standards.
• Proven experience in writing care plans and risk assessments.

Skills:

• Strong organisational skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Presentation skills to deliver training or updates to the team.
• A compassionate, person-centred approach to leadership.
