Leaving Care Worker

• Flexible working available, using a hybrid model and in line with the needs of the service - working from home and your contracted work base which is Sedgemoor.
• Full time - 37 hours per week.
• 28 days' leave.
• There are extensive training opportunities for workers to support you in your role.

We’re working to improve the lives of care leavers in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

• supporting care leavers aged 16-25.
• making sure care leavers have access to all their care leaver entitlements.
• providing information, advice and guidance.
• supporting care leavers to access services which will help them achieve their goals and live independently as young adults.
• being part of a specialist team that supports asylum seeking young people and refugees alongside care leavers from Somerset.

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. You will need;

• experience of direct working with young people which would preferably include care leavers.
• knowledge of child and adolescent development and needs of young people who are care experienced.
• excellent recording skills and good organisational and time management skills.
• an innovative and creative approach to engaging young people, some of whom may be resistant to intervention.

The salary range for this role is £28,598 to £32,061 per annum for 37 hours per week.

Appointments are normally made at the bottom of the salary scale.
