We’ve recently come together, over a cup of tea and biscuits,   to share our thoughts and experiences of volunteering  at Affinity Homecare. A few of our clients and carers have already volunteered some of their time in developing new and creative projects to introduce a friendly and productive dynamic to the service. Margaret is a client at Affinity Homecare. Having cared for her husband for 30 years, she understands the value of care work, and time spent volunteering is   a precious commodity. “ Just two days in the office really built my confidence ” Margaret is supporting with a project for clients and their families and believes the simple act of getting out of the house whilst engaging in something positive, gives her a sense of purpose and at the age of 86, it is key to longevity    and a rewarding life. RESPONSIBILITIES: Purpose of role to support clients with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. Providing care and support is both a challenging and rewarding experience. You will mostly work alone with the clients in their home. Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential for this important role in our company.
